Size - 4x3x2.5 with corner weir

12mm float glass

2x twin T5 lights

300w heater

Marine sources protein skimmer

2 foot sump

small wave maker

well ive been pretty quiet on here since i signed up and thought id post what i have been up to. sorry if this is a long post (but i added pics for those like me who still enjoy a picture book)

i used to own a very basic small 3 foot fish only marine tank about 5 years ago and gave it up for reptiles for 4 years. after that i decided to get another marine tank and thought id go corals aswell. i brought a standard 200L (52 gallon) 4 foot tank and started adding some fish and a few corals. it didnt take long for it to fill up and i had a coral addiction that needed fulfilling

so the decision was made i wanted a bigger tank.

I really like the length of the 4 foot tank but wanted more volume and height so i settled on a 4x3x2.5 tank.

while waiting for glass to be cut i started building the stand. i should point out i have never built anything like this before. first time wood working and first time building a tank.

when the glass was cut i picked it up and brought it inside and thats when the size difference between the old tank and new one. heres me holding the side panel of new tank next to old tank

i assembled the tank and water tested it for a week and was very inpressed it didnt leak a drop. this was my first moment of pride in my work lol

then i recieved a 2 foot sump, Marine Sources Skimmer and return pump

it was time to move it into house and start getting serious here is the size difference between new tank and old tank

New tank sitting in its position where it will live for now on.

So today the tank has all stock from old tank with LOTS of room for new additions to feed addiction.

well thats it, sorry about the long post. i have enjoyed every bit of the build and am pretty happy with the results
