2 return pumps ON/OFF operation?

I was thinking of setting up 2 Eheim 1260’s as my return pumps, both hooked up to a APEX with a on / off operation of each pump every 10 minutes.

So I would have one on one side of the tank and one on the other giving a osilating effect.



My question is would this on/off operation every 10 minutes 27/7 be damaging to the pumps?
