DIY Protein Skimmer Question

I've seen a few DIY skimmer designs including Geoff's, but I was wondering how to determine the best body size and pump size for your tank size and bioload. I currently have a 150G Mixed Reef and a 75G FOWLER. Both have sumps. Any help or links would be great. Thanks
