Just set up a nano that I'm planning on making reef only with one small fish. Was wondering about cycling. The girl at my LFS said that if I used the water, sand and a live rock from my tank that it would pretty much be instantly cycled. Problem is, I like all my rock where it is!
I transferred water and sand from my tank but bought a new small piece of (cured) live rock and a few dry. How's this cycle going to go? Should I add some other media from my other tank? Should I add a piece of shrimp in this situation or is that unnecessary?
