90 gallon science experiment

hello yall, iv been lurking on random forums for the last 2 years or so and decided to finally make one my home, and this is it.

iv been interested in tanks since I was able to walk, had some of the 1 gallon death tanks form wal mart when I was young, got side tracked after having a 20 gallon freshwater for a few years way back in 98. some time passed and I finally got a 55 gallon to start as a freshwater. well, the freshwater lasted for a week and it was swapped to saltwater. I tried the canister filter thing on it, and didn't go far. sold that 3 months later for a craigslist special 125. found out that the glass was completely etched and no matter what we did we couldn't get the stains out.

Christmas of 2012 I asked for a 90 gallon tank for xmas, santa didn't bring it so I was stuck with the bill. a few dollars and hours later I had my first legitimate saltwater tank that actually stayed up for more than 3 months.

Iv had it up and running now for a year and 5 months.

My list of equipment includes:

deep blue 90 gallon tank

34" 2x4 stand (high enough to not have to stare down at the tank)<-- it looks like 2x4s , not finished

Reef octopus nwb-150 skimmer

hydor koarila powerhead aimed at overflow

jebao wp25 wavemakers w/dual controller

danner mag 9.5 pump

coralife 48" 4 bulb fixture stuffed with ATI and KZ bulbs

Fluvial 2 or 300 watt heater

custom made 55 gallon sump/refugium with 2 4" filter socks

Refugium part is 13 gallons, I believe the whole tank displaces about 20-25 gallons of water

clip on fan as a ghetto chiller and 23watt cfl bulb in home depot shop light holder to grow some algae

2 30 gallon barrels that I mix my own saltwater in, that is powered with a rio 650gph pump

I am running RO water with an automatic float top off both in tank and water holding barrel.

I will be posting pics asap
