So I just got out of school, and I kind of wanted to start up my parents old fish tank as a summer project. I've done pages of research within the last week and i think I'm about ready to fire it up, but the problem is its still very dirty. Its custom build and mounted inside the wall, so its not coming out, and all of the cleaning guides say to take it outside and soak it in water and vinegar, but obviously that won't work. What should i do about cleaning the bottom and sides. btw its all acrylic so if anything is to rough it will scratch the sides and set the dust and dirt into the scratches. any ideas? also i have a job at my local super market so i have an income, but i want to save money for bio balls and other filter equipment so suggestions on the less pricey side.
