I bought dry rock from BRS and i have been curing it. I just watn to make sure what i am doing is right.
1. I scrubbed the rock and dunked the rocks in water to get anything loose out of them.
2. placed them in tank with salt water and powerheads and a protein skimmer
3. I have been doing water changes about every 4 days. I think My ammonia has already spiked and is on its way down while my nitrites and nitrates shot up yesterday. I have been doing water tests every few days and have been writing it down.
This monday it will have been for 2 weeks the rocks have been in the tank. I have kept the tank in the basement so it stays pretty dark. I only have about 15 pounds of rock curing. I have a biocube 14.
Now once my reading are 0 is it ok for me to move the tank to where i am going to keep the tank and add in the live sand. I would also then just add a small piece of live rock I have in my current tank. Does that seem right or should i put the live rock into the tank now while its curing?
