I have kept a 29 gal FW tank for a little over a year and want to convert it to SW FOWLR and then eventually to a reef tank. After extensive research and reading all of the great advice in this forum I believe I have come up with the proper set up. I am posting this to get feedback on my plan before I begin purchasing the equipment needed to begin the project.
29 gal tank
o 1-Koralis 425 GPH power head
o 1- Flu val 70 HOB filter
o 1- 2800 lumen led light (day and actinic modes)
o 30 lbs of live rock
o 2 live sand depth
Stock I would like to keep
o 2- ocellaris clowns
o 1- banggai cardinal
o 1- stripped wrasse
o 1- emerald crab
o 1- banded shrimp
o 2 -snails
10 gal sump(might be able to step up to a 15 gal once I see how the skimmer will fit)
o Eheim compact 3000 submersible pump 793 GPH
o Reef Octopus BH 1000 skimmer (hang on sump).
o 800 gph internal over flow box
o 100 watt heater
Piping
o I plan to drill 3 holes in the side of my tank to accommodate the following
o Herbie overflow 1 pipe size
o ¾ pump return line
