Hey guys,
So after a while of debating and reading and listening to people I finally took the plunge. I bought a Coralife skimmer as well as a Hydor circulation pump, salt and live rock. The people at Aquatica, a local fish store told me that I shouldn't have a problem keeping the live rock. My worry is that I have now installed the pumps and put in probably too much salt and It has been 12+ hours that I have been running the skimmer and when I check the tank is still somewhat murky with salt and the salt level is off the charts. I am worried that my live rock will dry out and no longer be live, defeating the overall purpose of live rock.
What should I do? Can I put the live rock into the tank? Should I bring it back? I don't want to have wasted all this money on live rock and not be able to use it.
How do I know if my skimmer is actually working as well? It seemed to be working fine pulling out some dark protein but when I woke up this morning it is just bubbling white.
Please someone help this poor inexperienced aquarium junkie!
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
