To recap, it's 120g, with 135# of LR from LiveAquaria (much of it in the sump). SCA-303 skimmer (rated for 150g), carbon and GFO reactors from BRS.
For the near-term, it'll really be a FOWLR tank. As we advance, we'll branch into corals (get it? branch, he,he).
We've been up and running now for about two weeks, and wife/kids are excited about livestock. After much internet time and a lot of "Tanked" episodes, I have a wish list. It's been really cool how this has become a family hobby.
So, here's what we're thinking:
To start, over the next two weeks move over from the existing JBJ 28g:
- Three pieces of LR with some coraline, polyps, and a feather duster.
- Two cleaner shrimp, one pistol shrimp, 10 assorted snails.
- One forlorn, blue-green Chromis, 1 1/2" long.
Then starting around Thanksgiving, here's the wish list in order of addition/group:
- Pair of Ocellaris Clowns
- Diamond Watchman Goby
- Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse
- 3 more Blue-Green Chromis
- Yellow Tang
- Scott's Fairy Wrasse
- Bartlett's Anthias
- Flame Angel
- Dwarf Lionfish (not sure about this, personally)
- Scooter Blenny
- Red Mandarin
We'd really appreciate any suggestions or comments.
On a personal note, I wanted to say thanks to all of you out there. I have learned so much and enjoyed looking at all of your tanks and ideas.
