too much ammonia(8ppm or higer) = stall cycle?

Hello,

its been 3 days since I started my first saltwater tank,.

20g with 30lbs live rock.
20 live sand
canister filter
rio 600 pwer head.
salinity lvl : 1.022~1.023
temp : 82

I put live rock into new tank immediately and water is very cloudy and smell is getting worse.. and NOW there is a white FILM on water surface.

all the worms = dead

ammonia - 8ppm
0-nitirite
0-nitrate

any idea how long this will last before some nitrite will appear?

my tank is getting cloudy and I read that this may stall my cycle?

I have chemi pure elite... should I drop the bag into a tank?


OR I worry too much?
there seems not everyone went thru my stage when they had their first sw tank set up.
