I am fairly new to the hobby and noticed a thin tunnel along the glass in the sand bed today. I purchased a few corals last weekend and even though I used a coral dip, it would seem a few hitch hikers made it into the tank. The day after putting the corals in, I had a very small red fancy brittle star climb out of the star polyp frag I added while I was feeding the tank.
The brittle star sticks a couple of arms out of a tiny hole in the live rock while I feed now and I am not worried about him but I know less about inverts that live in the sand bed so I was hoping someone could potentially help identify what is making the tunnel in the attached photo. I can see whatever it is pushing up individual sand grains from time to time but it seems tiny, about 1/8th of an inch long probably.
The only guess I have is that it could be a spionid worm but I honestly have no idea.
Thanks for any help in advance!
