Minor ATO issue..

I have the Tunze Osmolator Nano for my tank, but have the issue where my tank has that black border/lip that sticks into it a bit. Because of this lip, I can't quite bring my ATO float piece high enough to where I would like it (ultimately i'd love to keep my water level just below the filter output so I hear as little of trickle as possible).

Is there any way to work around this? Short of cutting part of that lip off anyway.. lol.
