Hi all,
This is my first post on The Reef Tank. Happy to be a new member and part of this cool community.
I have question about clownfish behaviour.
I purchased 2 tank bred Ocellaris clownfish over the weekend hoping that my Sebae anemone would host them. I love the partnership between these 2 animals and wanted to see that in my own tank.
To my surprise the anemone started to host one of the clowns just a day after introducing them. Very happy!
I am concerned about the second clown though. My anemone clown hasn't shown any interest in pairing with the other, in fact it has acted fairly defensive towards it since they were introduced. At this point when clown #2 swims close to the anemone clown #1 will actively chase it away.
What's happening here? Should I expect a change in this behaviour at all? Will these 2 clowns ever make amends?
Any advice would be great. Here is a picture I just took of clown #1 enjoying his anemone. Thanks for reading!
