Transferring from old to new tanks

Just wondering if you where to cycle a new tank and wanted to put things like sea cucumbers or anemones into it that are established in a current tank what would be the best way... or would you need to wait 4 6 8 or however many months? Would it be something you could speed up using your established rock? I think I know the answer (be patient with it lol) but I wouldn't be able to maintain two tanks for a extended period. Thanks
