Safe intake/powerhead for cucumbers?

I am going to purchase a sand sifting sea cucumber since my sandbed is pretty yucky, will my intake and powerhead be safe for him, will he get sucked in, I don't think he will. Cucumber looked like 3-4 inches at the lfs
