Proposed method for cleaning my sump..

Hey guys, just wondering what you thought about this idea... I used to have a Fluval 406 before I built my sump.. so to clean the sump, I was thinking about turning the pump off, cleaning the glass and bottom and running my Fluval 406 with very fine filters inside until the water is clear, then getting rid of the media inside.

Just a thought, seeing what you guys thought of it. If not I'll just stick to cleaning, letting it settle and pumping it out.
