There was an interesting thread here a little while back about figuring out a workable stocking equation. Someone suggested that most of the time you'd reach your aggression limit before your bioload limit. I'm wondering if someone could tell me if I've reached that point.
I have a 55 gallon and I never wanted anything over 3", so I wasn't too concerned with overstocking. I ended up with a yellow watchman/pistol pair, a firefish, a geometric pygmy, a yellow clown goby and a tailspot blenny - all currently ranging from 1" to 1 1/2". Yesterday I got an ocellaris clown to actually have someone swimming in the upper water area. Being all small peaceful fish, I figured that I was fine. But what makes me wonder if I've reached that aggression limit is that my tailspot has been endlessly harassing the new clown since I put him in there! I've never heard of a tailspot being aggressive except to similarly shaped fish (he hovers next to the firefish a lot, but they just seem to kind of hang out together).
I was worried about the possibility of the clownfish eventually picking at the quieter fish, but this is totally unexpected. Do I have too many fish? Or is the tailspot just being a jerkface? And if anyone knows where that thread is (or any other good stocking threads), could you link it to me?
