Hey all. I was away this past week, and came home and it appears that my 37 gallon tank is leaking. It is leaking a very little bit, so I am not terribly worried right now, but I want to switch it to a 40B in the next few days because I go away again for two weeks on the 9th. That tank has fallen into a bit of disrepair, and is also in need of a major cleanout. I wrote up a quick plan, and wanted to run it past you guys first before I make any moves, because I've never done anything like this before.
1) Put coral into spare 10g
2) Put rock into spare 20g
3) Put fish into spare 10g
4) Siphon out sandbed
5) Scrub rock down
6) Remove 37, replace with 40B
7) Reaquascape
8) Add new sandbed
--> Opinion time! Should I add rock and then sand, or sand and then rock?
9) Replace water from the 20g into 40B
10) Add coral and fish to 40B
11) Fill with 20g of clean saltwater
Does that all look good? Any other things I should do while I'm at it?
