I made a trip to the Asian market yesterday and came home with a little over a pound of squid, a container of tiny shrimp (might be too big for my little fishies, they are bigger than Mysis but going to be blended up so should be OK), 3 clams and 3 oysters, as well as a package of nori to make my next batch of fish food. I've made some before with shrimp, crab, peas and blueberries but this is the first time I've made it to the Asian market to buy stuff.
My first impression is that it was extremely cheap! I paid less than $12 for everything that I bought which will probably make quite a bit of food. The thing of little shrimp was like $1.99... so much cheaper than buying Mysis at the LFS!
My plan is to just throw everything in the blender (after I figure out how to shuck the clams/oysters that I've never done before...). Is this ok? Do I need to process the nori some way first by letting it soak or something? This is my first experience with nori, are my fish even going to care about it? I only have blue/green chromis, black clown, firefish, YWG, and a dalmation molly in my tank. Am I better off getting a clip to hang the nori on for them to graze on rather than including it in my blender mush?
