Hmmm... tragedy strikes again..

well my tank has been cycled for around a week and a few days now. there are two small frags, one zoa's one palythora's that I put in the day my nitrites dropped. I had 30 nitrates the day the cycle ended. cycled with old rock from a tank that crashed, I scrubbed em, soaked in bleach for 24 hrs, scrubbed rinsed scrubbed rinsed scrubbed rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed some more. I didn't keep track how many exact days went by for the cycle to complete but its been setup since july 2nd almost 8 weeks ago.

regular maintenance each week is siphon 1/2 sandbed and siphon out

sump equaling 10 gal of water and clean lights equip. ect..

filtersock changed once a day

tapwater with prime

pods (tons of them in my sump), baby bristle worms, zoa's, paly's and diatoms occupy the tank, I noticed the pods last week and bristle worms a few days ago so the tank has no problem with things living in it.

instant ocean salt

I took a water sample with me to my lfs to double check against my tests and they showed:

ph-8.2

sal-1.026

am-0

nitrite-0

nitrate-25

kh-11

cal-0 (not sure if he just didn't test this or if its 0, should it be 0? pretty sure it souldnt be) the guy never mentioned anything about it and I didn't catch it said 0 when he gave me the test results.)

phos-.25

acclimation as follows.

floated for 15 mins, drip acclimated for 45mins, freshwater dip (water from my freshwater tank was used) for 60secs then into tank.

I lowered lights and put a sheet over the tank for a couple hours, took the sheet off and he wasn't breathing abnormally and seemed comfy in his little area I made for him. before I went to bed I loaded some frozen Mysis in my syringe and he ate from it.

this afternoon I changed the filter sock and searched and searched and searched for him, couldn't and chalked it up to him hiding. I threw a little food in the tank hopefully to fish him out, haha no pun intended, it didn't work then I went to work. just got home and I found him dead halfway in/half out of a crater of a rock, the current most likely blew his dead body there.

did I do something wrong with acclimation or could sumn else be goin wrong here? can I only keep water flowers (its what zoa's & polyps remind me of) and no fish?
