heater blew up in mixing container

I received a blue zoo order today. I was pre mixing water to their salinity and heating it up some. I put the heater in the bucket must not of had enough water in it. When I put the heater into my mixing can the glass broke about 3/4 up. It tripped the gfo and the glass sunk to the bottom. It's 32 gallon brute trash can full of 1.025 saltwater. Do I have to drain the water and start over. It's a fluvial heater was only in for a few Seconds.
