Favia placement and care

Hi just got a new piece of coral today a favia a pretty large colony and good price I was just wondering is it okay on the sand bed because I have a yellow sleeper head goby who may get a little sand on it will this damage the coral? And also what type of flow does it like and is it relatively hardy?
