I ran a water test on my tank tonight. It has been 2 1/2 months (roughly...) since I started it.
As of right now I have 30ish pounds of dry rock/live rock. I started the cycle with a half cup of my own urine (gross I know but it worked). Without waiting a day or two and testing my ammonia cycle, I went ahead and put some raw shrimp in (which probably over did it).
BUT good news is my cycle pushed on and now I am left with 80-160ppm of Nitrates.
So my question is:
How many water changes should I do and how much per change is recommended to get that down to a level I can start adding fish? AND should I spread the water changes out over a given period of time? example: one a week...
My rock is not ready for coral so that will come later.
