White covering on Live rock

Hi I have a question. My tank has been up and running since February. Just recently we noticed what looks like white spongey stuff on one of the live rocks. I thought perhaps the rock was dying but it is growing onto another rock near it. I have a rose bulb anemone that is loving this rock that has the growth. Anyone know what it is? I am trying to post pictures.
