Evaporation calculations

Hi, I am gearing up for a massive scale project and I am hoping to find out if there are fairly reliable calculations for water loss through evaporation? If anyone has any formula's which may help I would greatly appreciate any information I can get. I'm sure surface area, air movement over water, water movement, ambient temperature, and probably a dozen other factors I;m not even thinking about at the moment play a part. The good part about such a massive project is that i do not need to be accurate to the ounce ( or in my case really to the gallon, but I would prefer to be pretty close and adjust based on actual results. he reason I ask is because I am considering creating "real weather" with my system. E.g Controlled lighting adjustments to simulate a thunder storm (with audio for pure shock and awe) with a sprinkler setup above the tank for top offs using heated RODI water for the effect of "rain". I am guessing roughly that works out to 1% of actual tank volume per day (give or take to adjust for humidity and the other dozen factors involved). If there are any other factors should consider for this idea please feel free to speak up. I'd rather be told I'm being an idiot before I crash and burn than after.
