Hey everyone. New guy here and first post. I'm converting my 60 gallon freshwater tank to saltwater and have some equipment I'd like to reuse.
I have no sump planned yet, a canister filter, and a skimmer given to me by a friend (eBay). My acrylic tank has no drilled holes. So, I'm wondering if it is possible to run the skimmer's pump from the main tank, to a hose that connects to the skimmer in a makeshift sump underneath (I have an extra 20 gal) and use the empty canister (I'll maybe fill it later with something) as a pump to get water back into the main tank. Both the canister and the skimmer's pump are rated at 530 Gal/hour. Any feedback would be great! Oh this is planned as a FOWLR.
