I purchased a Pocillopora frag last Sunday. This Sunday I noticed that the tips are turning white. I'll post a few pics when I get home.
Water parameters:
Nitrate: .5 ppm
Nitrite, amonia: 0 ppm
Phosphate: not detectable on salifret kit
Calcium: 400 ppm
Dkh: 9
pH: 7.9-8.1
I have a 48-3w led light that I custom built. This is my second sps in a tank with a decent amount of lps and softys that are doing great. My first sps is a birdsnest that was bleaching so I turned down the lights and it is happy now. The Pocillopora is in the same lighting zone as the birdsnest.
Is this something that I should be concerned about or could it be growth, or just the coral getting acclimated?
