Running a 37gallong tall with 10 gal sump system and for the past year have been using a coralife super skimmer 65 with good results. About a week ago switched to a reef octopus classic 152 cone skimmer. For the first couple of days it was going great, but now i cant produce enough foam head to get a dry skim, all that i get are bubbles that travel up the neck but then just pop and the spray of bubbles popping is causing more of a wet skim to drip off the top of collection cup.
Should i feed the system more often to produce a better head? Or do you think this is a problem with the actual skimmer itself?
