So after looking around... i like the idea of having a non photosynthetic tank... i have 3 feather dusters and have just recently started adding phytoplankton to feed my feather dusters (which is their main source of food)... I'm also looking at adding a single undecided species of filter feeding sea cucumber... who also live off of phytoplankton sized particles...
I'm aware of the possible accidents that can happen from this animal and I'm working on taking precautions against this.
Other animals I'm looking into are flasher and flame scallops who eat various sizes of zooplankton...
Currently my tank is stocked with a pair of orange clowns (not sure specific type), a purple firefish, a blue neon goby, a number of small hermits, a pair of small turbo snails, a blood red fire shrimp, a pepermint shrimp (who may or may not be removed soon), a large Hawaiian duster, a generic duster, and a dwarf Hawaiian duster. I also have a number of snails that rapidly breed and grow that I'm almost positive are collonista snails, and a new type of snails that seem to be pyramid snails... but I've never discovered them on any of my snails. Also they are numerous and mainly sand dwelling... so if you have ideas on what they may be that would be great...
My current parameters are
Ph 7.9 (a bit low but I can't manage to get it up)
Ammonia and nitrite 0
Nitrates 15 to 20 (missed a water change last week)
Phosphates <.25
