To add Plants or not

I have a 40 gallon tank. I have 3 fish, ENOUGH rocks and lots of sand. I do not have a skimmer at this time however if you have any ideas on a good one please feel free to let me know.



I have rearranged my rockscape as of recent and now I think that adding some plants may enhance my tank. What plants would be safe and give a good REEF feel to my aquarium [?]
