its a 10gal.. it came with the 55gal deal. its been est for about a year as well, it was in my tank ill be using for my sump, 30galish, it had a hob filter with spinning cartridges right b4 the waterfall back into the water. about a 6-8in substrate & 3 'caves' water lvl has evaporated 1 1/2gal per month and ive had it 1 1/2 months its time for maint, what should I do?
I plan on servicing this tank every 1 1/2 months so what maint is appropriate?
its always had 4-20 goldfish (used as lionfish food) and when I moved it here it had 14 goldfish and 2 diff fish maybe a rainbow and sumn that looks like a goldfish but keeps a tighter body and its fins grow more then its body as well as silver in color. 3 gold fish, one with black spots on it because its mixed, two goldfish that I think to be goldfish are whats left as well as the rainbow something its oval and acts like a freshwater wrasse.
its made from tap water too, I have primer but at this point that's all the budget can do. ro/di is in the future don't worry and lets not talk about that.
its got a small hob filter, brand new since the 10 gal was brand new, the fish all pretty much pick at the bottom for food throughout the day, since day one ive always feed them 5 days a week at the same time each day, lights have been on a timer for 10 hrs and feed only as much as ive seen them all eat until they ignore the food. flake goldfish food.
no algae that I can see, water clarity, buildup, fish are growing, everything looks fine so... phosphates the same with fw? cuz ill reduce the substrate to bb for this one, that's easy lol.. im sure the nitrogen cycle is fine;
so lets hear the opinions from everyone
