Should I "cook" my rocks??

I have 90 lbs of base rock. All of it was at one point in a marine tank within the last year, but about 60 lbs of it has been in a FW Cichlid tank for 6 months. I removed it set it outside to dry. All the algae is gone and it "looks " just like it did when I bought it last year.



I am starting a new tank and would like to know how I should clean this rock. I will only be using 1/2 of it for my new tank but would like to store the rest for future tanks. I am trying keep this setup as "clean" as possible. I have read about "cooking" rock but wonder if it's suited for my application.
