Hi folks, new member here, been browsing forums for a while as a guest, and have finally decided to join....
I have a 130lt Aqua One 620t tank with basic filtration that comes with the tank. I am running it as a marine tank and have done for about a year now, I was given the tank so it was already established when I got it and had everything there. Lately I have been running into problems. I have been testing my water and have found my phosphates and nitrates are through the roof...
Nitrates sitting at 75 and not sure on phosphates as my lfs tested it for me...
I have about 50kg's of live rock, a small amount of coral sand on the bottom, I have 1 mushroom leather, 3 torch corals, 2 hammers, 1 frammer, a coco worm, 2 frogspawns and a small eligance. I have 2 yellow tail damsels, a black chromis and a clown fish. MY corals have been looking pretty sad lately and I recently found my snail and my coral banded shrimp dead also....
I have no-po-x, a bottle of calcium stuff and a bottle of kh buffer...
My question is should I have a skimmer? And if so how much would I be looking at? and What are some good brands? I'm still quite new to all of this and have been told mixed things about getting a skimmer or not...
I have also been told to get a canister filter by some aquariums and a skimmer, and some tell me to get a marisys filter and some just say to run a skimmer and no filter...
Any insght on this matter would be great. If you need any more info I will try and provide it for you. Thanks A lot :)
Edit * I also forgot to mention I am using 2ft LED adjustable blue/white lights and i have a wavemaker as well*
