Sand beds: barebottom in back of tank or level throughout?

Just finished adding a special grade aragonite 20lb bag to my 37 tall 30"x12". Since i added ot all to front of tank i have dunes ranging from 1-3" and the whole back of scape is BB. Should i keep it this way for easy siphoning or would it be better to the sandbed and tanks health in general if i just flatten it out and then in 2-3 weeks start picking up a stirrer crew and a sandbed cuc?
