I saw a 33gallon long tank at my LFS a few months ago. I havent seen a tank like this before, and I like the long look. So last week I bought it, and started making plans to build a stand. I built the frame using 2x4s and 4x4s I had laying around in my garage. Covered the top and bottom with maple plywood.
Then my wife had the idea of making a partition wall to show some separation from our living room, and dining room. Not a full wall, just a half wall with the tank on top. I agreed, and started modifying the stand. I added an extra 2 feet to the stand. Attached a small piece of 2x4 to studs in the wall, and ran a 2x6 through the inside of the stand, and attached to the 4x4s for added stability. I do have children, and safety is important. The stand is coming along nicely, just need more trim for the bottom, detail work and some paint. Cant wait to get this tank up and running! Super excited! Thanks for the looking!
