Natural Salt Water

Hi guys it's been a long time since I've posted anything on the forum. I no longer have my tank....I sold it when I moved. I'm now in Miami, FL surrounded by saltwater everywhere. I'm thinking about starting up another reef tank...my question is, can I use the saltwater that is so abundant around me?

I haven't measured the salinity or anything of that nature so I'm not sure how suitable it would be for a reef tank. I know that pollutants would be a concern, but if the water is running with a skimmer and what not would it be safe?

What are your opinions.
