I have a newly set up 90 gallon tank with 110 lbs of live rock, a 1.5" -2" live sand bed, a 30 gal. sump, protein skimmer, phosphate neutralizer, wave machine and appropriate lighting. The tank was filled with RO water and live sand for 1 week before we added the live rock. Salinity, Calcium, Carbonate, PH, Phosphates, Nitrites & Nitrates, Amonia test perfect. I've been away from this hobby for 11 years and SO MUCH has changed. In the old days we allowed our tanks 3-4 weeks to balance before adding any livestock. What is the rule of thumb these days? An enthusiast I know says, "wait a week". Another said, "With your setup you don't need to wait AT ALL??" What is the recommended wait time for adding my first fish or crustacean. I read in many forums that Clownfish ARE hardy "1st fish"? 25 years ago we usually added a Damsel, but we had some REALLY aggressive Damsels by the time we went through the Nitrite cycle and began adding other tankmates. What do you recommend my fishy friends?:read:
