Why do we buy such powerful lights?

So I've been reading a lot on high power LED fixtures because I want to upgrade. My question is, why am I reading everyone is running their $500 fixtures at 40%, 50%, etc. Everyone seems to be saying I'll never run it at 100%.



What's the point of spending this much money to use half of the product's capability??
