Sicce pump not starting/quirks

So I got my tank all set up yesterday... filled with water... went to fire up my skimmer and my pump wont start! :angry: It is using the Sicce PSK-1000. I got this skimmer/pump used and she assured me the pump worked and I am taking her word for it. Tonight I am planning on messing around with it before I throw in the towel and get another pump (probably a bubble blaster this time). I have read these pumps have certain quirks and things you can do to help it start up. When I plug it in and I hold the pump I can feel the motor trying to work, but it is not sucking in any water.



Any startup Sicce suggestions?
