The dreaded Ich, question about surviving fish

So, about 3 weeks ago I get the bright idea to get a powder brown tang. He was in a LFS I have been going to for a while now that I trust, and I had kept an eye on him for a solid 3 weeks. Everytime I went in he looked healthy, no white spots and asked to see him eat before I purchased him. Got him home, and 3 days later he blew ich. Including him, I had a total of 7 fish in my 150 gallon tank....5 fish are now dead as a result with the lone survivors being a sailfin tang and a pink watchman goby. I have been told that the only way I can get rid of the ich in my tank now is to take all of the fish out and let the tank sit for 30 days...is that true? My pink watchman goby never got infected with the ich and my sailfin got it, but bounced back and looks just as good as it did before he got it. Is it true that ich can live in the tank as long as there are fish in the tank? I don't have a quarantine tank to move the fish in to, and I don't want to sell them to another reefer because I don't want them bringing ich to their tank. Looking for a little advice on what everyone else would do in this situation....besides to NEVER get a powder variety of tang again. Thanks in advance!
