Hello all,
I have a 40 gallon salt water tank that has been established for about 2 years now. I have a tomato clownfish (been in tank 1 year) and an Oscellaris clownfish (been in tank about 6 months). The only other tank inhabitants are a chocolate chip starfish, long spine urchin, snails, and hermit crabs. About 2 weeks ago I bought a rusty angelfish that had ich which unfortunately wasnt evident until It was under the LED lights in my tank, so the store (since they are supposed to QT their fish) took it back and gave me another rusty anglefish that hid in the rocks for a day and died in 36hrs. That was 10 days ago.
Last night and today my tomato clown has been acting a little strange. It has always been an odd fish, for the first few months in the tank it stayed at the surface of the tank laying horizontally most of the time- with the ability to swim down, not stuck up there. Now it has been swimming mostly normally but has occasional spastic movements (not scratching against rocks). Very eager to eat and is accepting food. Has been hanging around my other clownfish a little more than usual. No visible external parasites. Other creatures totally fine. Any clues as to what could be going on?
