marine pure 8-4-4

hello everyone i was just browsing around and saw marine pure bricks and i thought i would try them but ... i was wondering if i add these will they drop my nutrient levels to fast and kill my coral because i have heard horror stories of it and i have heard great stories out of it so i don't know what to do
