Algae is on overdrive.

I purchased my love rock from a place in Florida and the rock came right from the Gulf. It was very nice with lots of Helmida and various other algae. Lots of encrusting sponge. Even have 3 really nice corals. Everything survived the 3 day trip with no die off. Even had alot of Turkey Wing clams. Soon after a Ammonia spike reaked havoc. 3 of the clams died but I got them out in time. But one I did not was in the rock and ended up putting alot of nutrients in the tank. Now my algae is going crazy. I have 3 types of calerpa and red bubble algae and some hair but what is going crazy is this plant that looks like grass. It is growing all over the rocks and my sand bed. My sand bed is like small shells and crushed coral from the Gulf floor. I have 10 certh snails and a couple of blue and red leg hermit's. My phosphate is 0.16, Ammonia 0,/nitrites 0 but nitrates are off the charts. I do a 3 gallon water change every 4-5 days. My skimmer is skimming heavy. I have so much good stuff growing on my rocks that I hate to get to drastic with the algae. Should I just let it go and let the system balance out? Thanks
