condy anemone changed colors.....

I have a condy anemone and when punched it was white with pink tips and a orange base. Now several months later it has changed colors from white to a brownish color. Still has his pink tips and orange base just the body changed colors. He seems to be doing great as he eats frozen squid once a week and catches food I feed my fish daily. Just was wondering why he changed colors.
