Hi everyone! I've had my 12 gallon Nano cube for about a year, and it's been lightly stocked throughout the time. Right now it is stocked with a few hermit crabs and a Pajama Cardinalfish, and they're doing amazing:dance: However, I want to get it nice and going again, so I had a few questions:
1) My temperature within the cube has been higher lately than usual since it's Summer here in Southern California. It's been 80-82, and I really need to get it down, so I was wondering if upgrading the pump might help with the temperature? If so, what model would be good for a 12-gallon Nano cube? I'm currently running the stock lights and pump. And if I do upgrade it, what temperature should I run my heater, it's a 50 watt.
2) I've been having alot of red algae growing on the glass lately, and it seems like everyday I have to clean it. Does anyone know what causes it and if so, what I can do to get rid of it?
3) In my 3 back chambers I have: 1st Chamber: Filter Sponge and Purigen, 2nd Chamber: live rock rubble, 3rd chamber: heater and pump. Does this look okay and any recommendations?
4) Once I have everything all perfect I want to over a long period of time add an Ocellaris Clown, a Neon Goby (I think this might be too much for the bio-load so if so would the clown+ cardinalfish or the goby + cardinalfish work better?), some more hermits, some more snails, a cleaner shrimp, and eventually some soft corals. Any changes or recommendations?
Thanks everyone for your help:rimshot:
