contaminated Rodi water tank?

I have a brute garbage pail with a lid that I used to store my Rodi water in. Today I open the tank and noticed a musty smell in the water tank. I checked my tank water with my TDS meter and it was 157 ppm. So I drained the water and and it was a slimy film on the inside walls of the tank. What kind of maintenance should I be doing to the Rodi water tank.I never really paid attention to the water in that tank because my TDS meter is connected to the water going into that tank and it is always at 0, I've never measured the water coming out of the tank. should I be cleaning the RODI water storage tanks on a regular basis, and if so with what.
