My new tank set-up! New cycle...back in the hobby again!

Hello everyone, I am back in the hobby again!

I used to have a 20 gallon reef tank last year. Unfortunately, I had to sell it because I was moving to a different city and did not want to have to take it with me.

I finally got myself adjusted to my new place and found some local fish stores (very few) and decided to get back in the hobby again! ... Although I have purchased most of all my stuff from the internet.

Here is what I have:

-16 gallon AIO (made by advanced acrylics)

-Tunze osmolator 3152

-Two 12in ecoxotic led stunners

-Rio 600 pump

-aquatop heater

-refugium (cheato & gravel-sand)

-20lbs of live sand

-20lbs of live rock

-DIY stand. Seen on youtube by Greg Jones

My tank has been up and running for 2 weeks and 1 day....to be exact!. This past Monday I decided to start my cycle by adding a raw shrimp. The shrimp has been in the tank with some carbon inside of a panty hose. One day later I tested my water for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. These were my readings :

Ammonia 2.0ppm

Nitrite 0ppm <------ 3/25/14

Nitrate 20ppm

My question here is if it's normal for my Nitrate to be at 20ppm??

I think it's a good sign that my ammonia is starting up but I find it a bit weird that my Nitrate is showing numbers but my Nitrite is not....Any thoughts please??!! I was under the impression that both Nitrite and Nitrate were suppose to be at 0 when starting the cycle.

Just a quick update...I just tested my water again less than an hour.

New numbers

Ammonia 8.0ppm

Nitrite 0ppm <-------3/26/13

Nitrate 40ppm

Also, I would like to introduce my tank to everyone as I am new to all this again! :wavey::biggrinbounce:

Hope you all enjoy the pics!
