Glass or acrylic?

Need to get a new lid for my 20 gallon hex... Wanting to get it custom so I can have some better lighting. Glass or acrylic? I currently have a crappy marine land reef compatible light. And the lid of the tank has only a small area for the light to go through! Any recommendations would be awesome! ☺️
