Hi I am new to saltwater.

I'm new to saltwater, I've had many freshwater tanks before but I'm now interested in saltwater. I'm looking into getting clownfish, but I don't want to buy a canister filter. Can clownfish live with just a hang-on filter with some media in it.😶
